Meet Ellie,

EllieEllie is 13 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was eight. She loves to take part in loads of activities and clubs like playing hockey, singing in her choir, playing in her church band and going to Guides, drama class and trampolining.

“Sometimes I feel fed up with my type 1 diabetes, but I know that there are lots of people who are much worse off than me so then I just get on with it again.  It's better to test more often so you get good control of your type 1. Having type 1 is normal for me. I don't let it stop me doing what I want to do, but sometimes I just have to plan ahead and be careful. Always remember to take your test kit and a snack out with you. A mobile phone is good too.”

Meet Will, who was diagnosed with type 1 when he was five years old.

Also meet 19 year old Emma.
