Talking T1 - JDRF Schools Programme

Talking T1 – Learning about type 1 diabetes is part of JDRF’s schools programme.  The pack has been developed to help teachers and pupils understand more about the care of and needs of children with type 1 diabetes.

The toolkit is totally free and contains information and support for the whole school community, from teaching staff to other parents. It also contains class activity plans.

Talking T1 – Learning about type 1 diabetes complements DCSF and DH guidance on Managing Medicine in Schools and Early Years Settings.

Click here if you have already received your pack and would like to download or use all the resources online (you will need to register a login).

How to get hold of a pack?

If you are a parent/guardian
We have sent an order form to every primary school in the UK. If you have a child of primary school age, you may also wish to contact their school to make sure they order a pack. We have drafted a template letter with information about the pack, for you to personalise and take into your child’s school. Download the template letter to schools here.
